JIMMY CARTER! I knew 3 things about my man JC before reading this book.
1) He was a peanut farmer
2) He was a 1 term Democrat President
3) He gets a lot of memes made about being 96 and a badass Habitat for Humanity volunteer

WELL JIMMY CARTER IS AMAZING. He is honestly a good man and that's why he only lasted one term in office. He's uncharismatic, but his heart has always been in the right place. He has spent his entire life fighting for human rights, fair elections and eradicating terrible diseases.

I highly recommend this book if you know nothing about JC. Also the audiobook is narrated by him, so you can get to know his voice too!

Also I am definitely calling him JC like Jesus Christ from here on out.

inchoate series of paragraphs on elements of his life. Sweet and decent history, esp. of the 70s..

I just finished this book that was selected by my book club for our October read. I never read political books but enjoyed this insight into President Carter's early life, time in the military and as a farmer, his work in politics and all there work has done after leaving office. The book included some of his poems and paintings which I also found interesting. I appreciate how hard he has worked since leaving office on the issues that he feels are important through The Carter Center.

At times I found the writing a little dry but understand that is his style. I enjoyed most the sections of the book on his early life then the time after he left office and the work he has done and insights into what still needs to be accomplished.

I enjoyed reading one of the memoirs of one of the most dedicated public servants who has ever been entrusted to the highest office of the land. His desire to help everyone stands in stark contrast to the politics of the day and it was refreshing to listen to his perspective on his administration.

I really enjoyed this memoir. I had read President Carter's previous memoir entitled An Hour Before Daylight about his boyhood memories of growing up in rural Georgia. He wrote A Full Life at age 90 and reflects on his whole life including his political years and his years of work through the Carter Center. I was surprised to find what an engaging writer he is. I have always thought a lot of President Carter, although I, like many others, didn't think he was such a great president. However, upon reading some of this thoughts and learning some more about him, I tend to think this may not be so true. He says in the beginning of this book that he has no real regrets about his time in political office and that he did his best at the time. He quotes Vice-President Mondale as saying, "We told the truth. We obeyed the law. We kept the peace." Carter added to that, "We championed human rights." In retrospect and also in contrast to the vitriolic political environment we have going on today in Washington, I think President Carter was probably a pretty darn good president. President Carter has written 30 books including a work of historical fiction, a children's book illustrated by his daughter Amy, Bible studies and devotionals, and a book of poetry. He includes some of his poems in this memoir in a few sections that he wrote in the time period he is reflecting on. I will continue to read more of President Carter's books and am interested in reading his memoir called Christmas in Plains and A Remarkable Mother, about his mother Lillian, who wrote 2 books of her own and was a Peace Corps volunteer in India at age 70. A Full Life was a good read.

If you know anything about Jimmy Carter's life, you know he is an amazing human being. How to be an engineer and a poet, a farmer and an activist, a president and a feminist? This tells his story up to now. I really enjoyed the book but felt like he could only touch on any point because there was so much to tell.

I really enjoyed reading this memoir. There were bits of history and lots of interesting stories. It wasn’t linear, but in categories. Overall, I’d read other books written by Jimmy Carter.
