I enjoyed this and there was definitely a lot of character growth and plot development. In reality post apocalyptic just isn’t really my cup of tea, it stresses me out and I can’t relax while I read it. I also find Jayk mildly obnoxious. Also the end was stressful…. Obvious kind of but stressful.

Reread still amazing
I absolutely love her dedications lol I normally don’t read them but it puts the reader in a fun mindset for the book. It plays off her dedication in the first book. Similar to the first book Eden is in a tough spot but this book starts off MUCH darker so strap in for some serious emotions. Even with the dark mood in the beginning of the book Beau and Lucy’s banter has me chuckling at times. Luck is moody and brooding (not like himself at all) and Beau is acting like a housewife with them bickering like an old married couple. Jayke, Dom, and Jasper are an odd group when it’s just them because they are all very alpha male in their own way. So when Dom and Jayke go at it like a couple of teenage boys while Jasper watches on the sidelines making commentary during a very tense moment it’s honestly hilarious. These characters have grown so much since the first book and we see so much more of their different personalities and quirks. I swear Rebecca has managed to get so much humor into this book in the most tense scenes and I am all here for it! I absolutely lost it when (MINI SPOILER) Jasper got called grandpa by a 14 year old and said he was too slow and hard of hearing. All in the middle of an all out battle. (END OF MINI SPOILER). And in case I haven’t said this yet Eden has become a total bad a** and I couldn’t be happier. This book is an absolute roller coaster of emotions and you feel every single one of them right along with the characters. Scared, happy, sad to the point of wanting to cry all mixed in with the flutters and spicy moments. And my oh my are the spicy moments steamy and plentiful, a puddle on the floor amazing! And let me just say I love the new side to Beau, Dr. Bennett can come out and play ANY time he wants! It’s very hard (emotionally) to read some of Eden’s inner dialogue, lots of ptsd and so much self doubt. All the men are trying to be there for her on their own way but she’s in denial and keeps pushing for so long. Lucky has grown such a backbone and I love it so so much. His dynamic has changed in the best way. He’s the same guy he was in book 1 but just so much more now too. Dom has come to the realization that he actually needs to FEEL and have EMOTIONS and CARE “gasp”. But he has grown and become so much more complex and again I LOVE it. Even with how emotional this book is and the frustrating moments i am just absolutely hooked to all of it and was not able to put this book down for anything. I love drunk Eden, she’s hilarious and my be my favorite like that. Jayke is extremely possessive in this, it’s a mix of sexy as hell and just want to shake some sense into him! BEWARE another major cliffhanger. The ending of this book just punches you in the gut and rips your heart out all at the same time…can we have book 3 now?! Because I am not ok…not even a little bit.
