Audiobook

I feel as abandoned as Jake with that ending.
My heart hurts for five imaginary men.
I am not well.
I loved it.

ENTANGLED
fast-paced

“Survival tip #317 The fairytales lied. The ancient forests are safe. Cities are where people go to die.”

This second book was much more heavy on the trauma and angsty on the relationships. The first half of the book was slower but necessary and the second half of the book...well I will just say that bondfire was everything. I will say this book was heavy on the miscommunication trope and that really annoyed me because I actually can't stand this popular trope in dark romance.

“In all my efforts to do good, I seem only to cause harm. Every time I try to play the hero, I become the villain.”

Jasper
“Why are pretty tears so perfectly designed to ruin me? I could make her cry prettier tears than these.”
Jasper's internal struggle is the most realistic and therefore the angst made complete sense to me. I really enjoyed his growth, confronting hard truths, and standing firm in his loyalty. Jasper both scares and makes me super curious.

Lucien
“But I can see the brat in him before the words are even out of his mouth.”
All I can say is thank god for Lucien and his jokes/humor or this story would be hard to digest.

Dom
“He watches me with those dark, dark eyes, and fiendish flames dance around us. “Kneel.” The word shudders through me like a prayer, a call for reverence.”
I am torn with Dom. He is the main contributor of the miscommunication trope and part of me understands he was brought up to internalize his emotions but another part of me was annoyed at his lack of communication and honesty.

Beau
“Darlin’, as your doctor, I feel it is my duty to give you a very thorough check-up.”
My heart broke for the disconnect between Beau and Dom but my heart grew seeing Beau stand on his own with Stacey. Beau is consistently stable and honest in his feelings and Stacey really needed him while she was recovering from her kidnapping.

Jaykob
“I hear him whisper desperately, “I’ve never had anything for myself before, Eden. I can’t share you.”
MY HEART BREAKS FOR JAYKOB. I absolutely understand his issues with sharing, I don't like to share either

Post-apocalyptic. Poly with BDSM vibes. More smut than book 1
