This book is pure, wonderful, magic. I love Rainbow Rowell's writing style and story-telling. Another great read by her!

2 stars for the story then one whole other star for baz

The gay Harry Potter I didn't know I needed.

I don't think I'd ever been this riveted to a story since the folk of the air trilogy. This book had me on a chokehold that I kept rushing backlogs just so I could continue reading. Obsessed with Simon and Baz's dynamic.

If you're not a fan of changing perspectives in stories, the read is gonna suck. But trust that it all ties the story together in the eventual unfolding.

Re-readability is so strong with this one. The slowburn was definitely slowburning.
For the Y/A enthusiasts, the enemies to lovers girlies, the golden retriever x black cat trope enjoyers.

It's an amazing story and I really recommend this book

2015: 1 really enjoyed this book! It is more like a 4.5/5 stars but I couldn't just give it 4! It was incredibly similar to Harry Potter, which I totally was expecting, and that is the reason I couldn't give it the 5 stars. That being said I LOVED THIS BOOK! OMG the characters are sooooo good and BAZ ah my sassy little baby, I love him so much HE'S JUST PERFECT AND HE CAN BE MY BOYFRIEND EVEN THO I AM A GIRL! I just really loved this book and of course there were flaws but it was just amazing and I love this world and cannot wait to revisit it in the future!

2019: I definitely love this book but I didn’t love it as much as the first time. I love the characters and the plot is so fun and nostalgic but I felt like it dragged in some parts? And the character dynamic is great but it wasn’t enough to drive me to the next scene. I don’t know I’m starting Wayward Son today so hopefully that’s amazing!

READ. IT.
OH MY MERLIN!
JUST READ IT

This book is evidence that just because you like someone, doesn’t mean you have to like their interests. I like Cath from Fangirl, but I do not share her obsession with Simon Snow. I’m also not interested in Harry Potter enough to enjoy this story within a story.

REALLY enjoyed Carry On by Rainbow Rowell, enough that it actually deserves 4.5 stars. It is a consuming, propulsive read, with so many fun elements, despite some clear derivations from a certain, popular male 'chosen one' story. Even though I didn't realize the protagonist character is a direct transplant from Fangirl, I did not feel as though I was missing any important contextual information.
adventurous challenging funny medium-paced

I will read anything Rainbow Rowell writes. ANYTHING.

I loved Fangirl SO much so how could I not read Carry On?! And I was not disappointed. It was glorious.
