my first lucy score book !!! 🥳🥳

it took me a few chapters to get into it but overall i enjoyed it . she has really easy, digestible writing . the book- she’s thick for a romance lol but it’s really fast paced .

the side characters !! ugh i love them

i really like ally . she’s not afraid to speak her mind, call people out on their bs, and out herself on the line for the people she cares about . and i loveeee her attitude and sass with dominic ! 🤌🏼

dominic . i like him, he’s a major grump lol but i loved seeing him soften up when he was with ally

i love them as a couple, BUT i just feel like things moved on too fast ?? love their banter and nicknames and the slow burn and what not, but it felt like they skipped over the “getting to know you” part right to the “i need to see you naked” part you know ? idk lol, they’re connection felt mostly physical to me up until the last couple of chapters 🤷‍♀️

This book was a cute, easy read! Grumpy-sunshine trope. Also kind of like Devil's Wears Prada with the fashion company theme. Let's chat about it!

SPOILER ALERT

SpoilerThe Characters: Dominic and Ally were okay. To be honest, I did not like Dominic. He was so mopey and mean. And his motive to get Ally to quit so they could be in a romantic relationship? How unbelievably selfish? Ally was a bit abrasive at the start. I am all for giving it back to the customers, but her introduction was... a lot. I feel like she completely turned into a different person halfway through the book. We stan Linus, though. He was honestly the only one I really liked.

The Plot: The plot was okay. I actually really like Devils Wears Prada, so that was cool. I didn't love the whole them trying to get the other to fold. Like... change departments or work it out with HR. C'mon. I was able to get through it pretty quickly surprisingly for being a 700+ page book.

The Book Art/Cover: The cover art was pretty cute. A 3/5. Simple and fun. I feel like they could have done more with it.

My Critiques: I just wasn't a fan of the two MCs, so it was really hard for me to like the book.

Otherwise, a fun, easy read! I love Devils Wears Prada so I enjoyed the fashion parts.
funny fast-paced

I don’t even know where to begin with this book.

I laughed, I cried, I got angry, and I was so happy for these characters and their happy ending.

Lucy Score has yet to disappoint me, and this was easily a five star read for me!
funny lighthearted slow-paced

I enjoyed it, was just a bit too long for a romance. Lots of "I want you, but can't have you" and the 3rd act breakup was very EXTRA and un-necessary. But I had a good time reading it

Another love from Lucy Score! Such a good read!
