Loved the chemistry, didn't love Dom's communication style. Still a great time.
4.75/5

Started off really good and a 4 star but ended terribly as a 2 star. The MMC was a total dick to her and she forgave him. Then we got the reason why he acted that way toward her and it explained his behaviour but didn't justify it imo. Also how were they early 40s/late 30s and acting that immature and also doing all that stuff. Like what 40 year old is doing strip shows and acting that immature to him at the restaurant?? Tension was great in first half but once they officially got together the story dragged on with no real purpose. QUALITY OVER QUANTITY PLS I'M BEGGING. IF I HAVE TO READ ONE MORE TRASHY BOOK- 😭

3.5 rounded up to 4. I liked that the characters were older. I do feel like she could’ve told the same story including character development by cutting 30-40%. Too much repetition and saving the best development for the very end.

How do I rate a book negative stars. How are people finding this shit romantic. Why am I so mad

Dude has 0 respect for boundaries and just gifts people things they didn't ask for as a means to make himself feel better about being an abuser, yet thinks HE'S the one being used constantly? I guess the lesson here is that you can be an abusive and controlling stalker and you'll still find love as long as you have money.

[Spoilers]
The entire plot of the book and the whole thing with Ally's character is that she's prideful and wants to handle things herself. She doesn't want to accept Dom's help and spends the entire book refusing his money and getting mad when he throws money at her problems. We're told to root for that trait of hers. But then the ending comes around and, what does Dom do when he pisses Ally off? Throws money at all of her problems, thereby solving everything. And how does Ally take it? She falls madly in love with him. Ok.

The MCs are supposed to be 45M and 39F yet act and talk like they're in their late teens or early 20s. After the 60% mark, this book becomes entirely smut (very cringey smut) with no plot or sense. The inner monologues are gross. Example:

"I was sweating. My balls were sending out an SOS. I couldn't hold on much longer, but right now, I was her fucking superhero"

" "Birthday blow job for the win." I said, sucking in a breath of jizz-free air."

I very much enjoyed this book. Really anything by Lucy Score is a favorite. But this book in particular was cute with a simple, yet cute developing love story. It was a nice lighthearted romantic story. Loved the little details that added to their love story.

after reading and loving things we never got over, i was really excited to read something else by lucy score. this was just not it for me. my main issue was the fact that dominic was 44 and ally was 39 but they acted so young, like they were in their 20s. it was so frustrating. they're so immature and it's just not it for me.
i do not buy dominic as a character we're supposed to root for. he is kind of awful. he genuinely should be going to therapy. like one of the worst characters i've ever read about, literally stalks ally and im supposed to swoon over him???? no thanks my friends.

*spoilers incoming i guess* also the fact that ally forgave dominic so quickly in the last 10% of this book? like girlie was dead-set on never forgiving him but all of the sudden she's in love and writing i <3 you on a pizza! also the epilogue?? fuck off with that shit. pregnant?? ma'am please get away from me. but i guess with all the detailed sex without condom scenes it makes sense.

Hands down the best book I’ve read. Hot. Steamy. Vivid. Beautiful. I could not get enough. I cried heavier tears when I realized it was over.
