2024 started on a rough note for me reading wise it seems. I went from reading the spectacular The Seven Year Slip to this clusterfuck.

I read this word to word for about 30% and then just skimmed my way through till the end. If I wasn’t told the MCs were 45/40 I would have thought these guys were in their 20s. Which 40 year old acts like this!? If I do, please shoot me.

The conflict was so stupid for the age. I hated this and I hated Dom and Ally.

Book gods, please give me a good book to read next! I beg you.

Very solid story with rich characters and their truly human experiences. I loved the banter and the slow burn was obvious throughout rather than thrown in somewhere in the middle.

This was a blind read for me and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it! The book was funny, smutty and had romance. What more could I ask for? I loved how Dom was protective of Ally & he didn’t want her living under the swiss cheese roof

The conflict and the resolution were just a little too fast for me like there was so much build up and then boom big asshole moves and then it’s all okay like 30 pages later….the rest was enjoyable though

This was a hard one to rate because I started out wondering if there would be any real relationship development, or if I would have to ride out almost 600 pages of lusty inner dialogue. Then Dom did some very questionable shit that would have HR pulling out their hair.

But halfway through, things got spicy and Dom got drunk and I was HERE. FOR. IT. The banter was so fun (probably even more so if you overlook the fact that these are grown ass adults in their 40s). I ended up liking the progression of the relationship and seeing them as an actual couple.

My first Lucy Score read.. loved. Ally was hilarious!

Extremely grumpy boss unwillingly falls for his employee. Very solid book, with a super wonderful and sexy slow burn, believable characters, and gut-wrenching emotion blended with lots of funny light hearted moments. I always appreciate when a book can make me laugh.
