there were aspects I like but overall I never connected to any of the characters. I didn’t care much about the heist, which low key didn’t make that much sense to me. The world building was cool and interesting but not enough for me to continue with the series. I do think the breathy narrator was maybe a factor if I had read a physical book it might have been slightly higher.

I want to like this much more than I do! The world and writing style are so cool, but some of the character dynamics are really switching me off - the romance in particular feels like a repetition of "I HATE him and don't TRUST him but oooh I find him attractive... I'm confused and angry about this" which is a trope I almost never find compelling. If that sounds like your bag, though, you may have a much better time than me...

A heist-y fast paced read about Arthie and her tea shop. The tea shop that was a front for vampires having a safe place to source blood, safe for all (kind of).

This read was full of strategy, found family and a sense of peril and risk. I love Arthie and the whole crew, honestly. But I was not prepared for those very late reveals and how the cliff left me.

I started on audio but struggled with the different POVs and did much better with reading the normal book. It could be a me thing but I do get a bit lost when there's multiple POVs on audio.

Thank you to First Ink for the audio copy.

I couldn’t get in to the story. It was just too slow moving.

This book is so boring I have fallen asleep every-time I’ve read it
