Did I read this book in about a day? Yea. Yeah I did. Did I also stay up until 1 in the morning to finish it? Yes. Yes I did. I absolutely adored this book!! I read To Kill A Kingdom last year and absolutely loved it so when I got approved for this arc (thank you hotkeybooks) I was so excited to dive back in to Christo’s writing as well as the fantasy world. This book was such an easy read and it was so perfectly crafted. I loved everything about it, from the protagonists to the antagonists to the side characters and to the world building! Christo has perfectly written what i think is bound to be one of the best YA fantasy books of the year. I have so many favourite moments but Nox being cute at the 64% mark really did something to me. Selestra and Nox individually are amazing and strong and fierce but together they are unstoppable. And do you know what else is good? She doesn’t lose powers because of a man. That’s always a win in fantasy books!! Princess of Souls is out on October 11th! And you should definitely pre-order your copy now! I definitely will be doing so when I get paid!!

Okej denna var ganska bra, men första boken i serien ”to kill a kingdom” är mycket bättre.
Princess of souls är en standalone, men principen av de båda böckerna är samma. Båda är en dark retelling av 1. Den lilla sjöjungfrun 2. Trassel.
Jag tyckte om denna, precis som tkak så är den bara milt inspirerad av disneyfilmerna. Man kan liksom inte avgöra vad som kommer hända eftersom man kan trassel utantill.
Jag kan inte ens förklara vad boken handlar om för då låter den bara som skit. Och just själva storyn är kanske inte det som jag tycker bäst om med den. Men den var mysig att läsa, jag tyckte om världen den utspelade sig i. Tycker även mycket om sidokaraktärerna ❤️Irenya och Micha❤️
Överlag så var romansen väl ganska gullig, men den var inte den enemies to lovers som ja blivit lovad (#canceltiktok). Eftersom boken är skriven ur bådas perspektiv så ser man ganska tidigt hur de är typ askära. Det är inte alls den mistro man behöver, det finns heller inte mycket tenision.
Ett annat problem jag har är hur den typ försöker vara lite found-family utan att lyckas. Man lär inte känna de andra karaktärerna alls bra. Selestra och Micha har kanske 3 meningsutbyten sammanlagt, samma gäller Nox och Irenya.
Jag skulle nog inte rekommendera boken, jag tyckte mest den var mysig att läsa. Är även ganska inne i fantasy böcker just nu. Så det var mest därför ja tyckte om den så pass mycket trots dess brister.

Ich hatte wirklich viel Spass beim Lesen dieses Buches :) . Was vor allem an den Schlagabtäuschen zwischen Selestra und Nox lag, die mich immer zum Grinsen gebracht haben.
Die Beiden sind ein super Gespann und ich habe sie gerne auf ihrem Abenteuer begleitet. Nox, der seit Jahren nur für seine Rache lebt, nicht wirklich vorsichtig durch die Geschichte rennt und sich immer wieder in gefährliche Situationen bringt.
Und Selestra, die gefangen Prinzessin im Turm, deren Schicksal es ist ein Monster zu werden.....und die nun versucht ihren eigenen Weg zu finden....
Die Handlung war spannend und hatte viel Tempo. Mir wurde auf jeden Fall nie langweilig.
Fazit: Ein tolles Buch, das ich gerne weiter empfehlen werde..
