This book was so good! Yes I was annoyed how long it took Cecelia to tell Edward about her lie (I was yelling at her every chance). But all in all it was a very good book.
Skipped 50 pages cause I got so unbelievably bored, the final 10 pages were all I cared about
The two main characters have so much staring into space and spacing out, it got annoying.

Omg it was so good!
Par wtf was that cliffhanger?? J’ai envie de peter mon crâne.
”Where is Andrew? It’s quite the story.”
Cute but psycho.
Julia Quinn is a Queen. J’aime trop cette série omg. Bridgeton on top.
Best quote :“It’s like I’ve come home.” When he kisses her. LIKE, WHAT!?!/spoiler>

I received a copy from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.
This is it, y'all. This is my least-favorite Julia Quinn (and I'm still giving it three stars).
I really don't like the consent/lack thereof involved in amnesiac marriages, and even Quinn can't save this one for me.
Cecilia is faced with either marrying an awful cousin, or moving in with an awful aunt. She instead chooses to go to the Colonies (AKA US) and find her brother. Instead, she finds his best friend, whom she'd written with through her brother's correspondence. Desperate to find out about her brother, she pretends to be his best friend's wife. And when that friend wakes up, he's lost much of his memory, so sure, why not a wife?
I really wasn't into the characters, but for this, I loved the setting of the Revolutionary War. Cecilia and Edward aren't very memorable characters, but it's rare that I read a romance set actually in a war zone. Taking characters raised with a certain set of social norms and mores and dropping them in a world where it doesn't matter at all is interesting, and something I'm always happy to read.

This was a unique concept for Julia Quinn as all her other books take place in England, whereas this one is in the American colonies. This story follows Cecilia who travels to New York to find her missing brother Thomas and Edward, Thomas's best friend, whom she discovered injured in the hospital. In an impulsive act, Cecilia claims they are married, and Edward with part of his memory missing, believes her. While the aspect of Cecilia lying to Edward did not bug me, I just couldn't get behind her. It was just so much inner dialogue on what she was going to do and trying to the moral high ground on what she thought was best for Edward. I really like Edward as a MC though, and you could see that he truly loved Cecilia. The last 25% was very exciting, and I could not put the book down.
With her brother injured in the Colonies and recently orphaned, Cecilia's best option is to go and find her brother. But she can't find him.
Thankfully, she finds his best friend instead.
I loved this book.
Cecilia and Edward suit so well.
Would like it more if Cecilia told the truth sooner.

I was delighted to keep on reading the Bridgerton's prequel and also this time I was not disappointed because Cecilia is a very nice character and I liked to see her internal struggles. Eventually and unfortunately, the book's ending was not to my liking but ok.
THANKS TO EDELWEISS FOR THE PREVIEW!
