Just can’t decide what to say about this one. One of my least favorites of Julia Quinn’s books, but it was still entertaining. I love listening to the narrator. She has the best British accent.

Content: some swearing and a couple of (skippable- easy to find the beginning and end) sex scenes.

A sweet story, actually. Could have easily done without the sexual parts. In fact, it did for me. If you're comfortable skipping or reading sexual scenes, definitely worth the read.

Julia Quinn's romances are always a lot of fun, but for some reason I didn't get quite as invested in this one as in Because of Miss Bridgerton. My biggest complaint was that it made me a little uncomfortable that she basically ended up tricking him into marriage? Like, I know that wasn't her intent, but she knew if she went into the room with him he would make her marry him out of duty once he found out the truth, but she did it anyways. I know her concern for her brother was above everything else at that point, and it didn't ruin the book for me because they were clearly in love with each other during the letter-writing phase, and he forgave her in the end, but it's just a thing where I don't like when characters sleep together under false pretenses, when one knows something that would make the other one not to be with them but doesn't reveal it. Luckily everything else was enjoyable enough that I was able to mostly look past it. Anyways, this was still very cute overall, and I did love their notes to one another in her and her brother's letters. I'm definitely looking forward to more in this series!

This is the 2nd read in the series the Rokesbys and though I am an avid fan of Ms. Quinn's Bridgerton series, I did not like this one as much as the first which included a Bridgerton (Because of Miss Bridgerton). Though there were some funny moments with Cecilia and Edward, it was rather lackluster. Edward Rokesby, seems to have lost his memory and upon waking finds himself married to Cecilia whom he only knows because of her brother Thomas, who was a friend and colleague in arms with Edward. The story was good, just not great, it ran on for a quite a bit with Cecilia in desperate need to find her brother and Edward wanting his memory to return. At the end of the book, the last 15%, Edward recovers his memory, finds out the truth with what really happened to Thomas and his make-believe wife and in his anger, rightly so, decides to not let on to Cecilia that his memory has returned. Cecilia does make amends by writing a letter explaining her deceit to Edward, right before she attempts to leave him to return to England. However, it was too late, they both had fallen in love with each other and since her virtue was compromised the only sensible thing would be to really marry his love. 3 solid stars!

LOVE. The overall romance and the sprinkle of spice had me swooning.

Siento que es mejor que el primero. Me lo he leído en menos de 1 día. Obviamente el final es el esperado pero hasta llegar ahí he estado intrigada. Siento que los personajes femeninos hasta ahora de esta saga son increíbles.
