I enjoyed this one. Sometimes I just enjoy reading some moral ambiguous characters and this one worked for me. It hooked me early and if I didn't have other commitments, like work, I would have finished it in one day.
I liked Jove, he made no apologies for who he was and what he did. He didn't bemoan the turn his life took, just acted. I enjoyed the way he was with Tobias as he navigated the things happening. He learnt throughout the book and began to realize where he had gone wrong with his boys. They each had their own way about them and needed different things. I would have liked more about the boys as we only really got to know Hadrian.
I loved Tobias/Red with his lack of filter at times, he was a good buffer for the stoic Jove. He bought out the softer side of Jove.
I did pick the baddie but never picked the reason for it. It didn't change my enjoyment at all of the book
