The fourth book in the Pink Carnation series and I'm still liking this series. A lot. She finally gets around to one of the more interesting secondary male characters and I cheered. Lord Vaughn's secrets are finally out and were enjoyable to read. And even more, I'm wondering about the modern day man, Colin. I'd wondered about him at the start, and some of his comments now just make me believe even more that he's more than he seems.

Sadly, the 5th book was just released into hardcover, so I will have to wait to see what happens next. Dammit.

Another entertaining book in the series. Not my favorite book, but still a nice fun read. This one focuses on Mary Alsworthy and Vaughn and their search for the Black Tulip. I had read it before, but didn't remember much about the plot, so this was like reading it for the first time. I wasn't able to guess where it was going, which was a change from the other books. And, there was less romance here than in others, mostly because of the situations of the characters.

Dual timeline for no real reason + zero exposition in the historical timeline = to the shelf with you.

Vaughn and Mary are my Napoleonic War-era Rhett and Scarlett. That dialogue!

These books are completely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!Sadly I'm reading them in completely the wrong order as that's the way they've come from the library but it doesnt affect their appeal for me.

I love the scenes set in the past, but the present day episodes add to the enjoyment too.

I love this author and am hooked-lots more please!!!!

Vaughn is my favorite character, and while I liked Letty and Geoff much more as a couple, Mary and Vaughn are well suited. Mary grew on me as a character through the book and became much more likable. It was great to understand Vaughn's story better and the twists in Eloise's story were great in this one. Can't wait to read more.

Fourth in the series of novels on the "flower spies" of post-French-Revolution England, this book went to the top of my list this week as I needed some serious fluff. I've enjoyed all the other books and enjoyed this one as well, though the ending seemed a little rushed, the framing plot a little thin, and, well, frankly, there wasn't enough sex. :-) Not as ripping good a read as The Secret of the Pink Carnation, but it'll do.

Still a good book but my least favorite in the series so far. Couldn't warm up to the main female character but will definitely still continue the series if any more come out.
