Incredible production.
Technically I give it 4.75 stars, because I have some quibbles with casting (most notably, I think Kat Dennings’ delivery is flat) but overall it was brilliant and gave me some new insights on the saga. I look forward to the future adaptations.

A haunting and imaginative tale that spans thousands, perhaps millions of years, and brings many creatures to life, along with human strengths & weaknesses.
I'll preface by saying I love The Sandman comics, so I may be biased in this review. It definitely helps to be familiar with the comics so that you are better able to imagine the scenarios going on. However, I think there is enough narration and "background noise" for someone unfamiliar with the comics to comfortably understand the story. For anyone wondering, this isn't the full series - it's only half of it, I believe, and the next part should be released shortly. So if you want to binge the whole series, you'll have to wait a little bit. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Basically takes the comic word for word to audio format, which is the perfect way to make the books more accessible to a wider audience. I'm really happy to see more of these for graphic novels. The cast is excellent! It feels like listening to an audio drama.
Side note: it says "only on Audible", you don't need Audible to listen to these. Libraries are able to buy copies now!

This audio production is fantastic. I did try reading the graphic novel a few years ago and just didn't get into it. This production - with a great cast, atmospheric sounds and Neil Gaiman himself as narrator - drew me in chapter by chapter. I think the reason I struggled with the book version was that it seemed rather "bitty", a series of disconnected episodes that didn't seem to knit together particularly well. The same is sort-of true of the audio adaptation - but somehow it works, and I am looking forward to Act II!
3.5
This Audiobook was truly an Experience. Would recommend.

The Sandman is the best audiobook I have ever listened to-amazing production with fantastic voice acting!
This is an excellent audio adaptation. With a large voice acting cast, a musical score and many sound effects, it’s more like a radio drama than your usual audiobook. I’ve actually never read this comic series before and I think I would have gotten more out of this adaptation if I had, but it was still enjoyable for me despite going into it not knowing much about the series. Some of it was a little too repetitively gruesome for my taste (lots of eyeball munching).
If you told me that I was going to listen to an audiobook, I’d laugh at you for five minutes. Thanks to James McAvoy for getting me excited for an audiobook!
I have been a Neil Gaiman fan already but I was always skeptic about audiobooks. Thankfully, no more!
Kat Dennings was a pleasant surprise and she was a “scene-stealer” at times.
I felt like I played a whole television series in my head and every voice was remarkable. I cannot wait to listen to the second part.
