I tried the comics, the netflix adaptaion and finally this full cast audiobook and I can now safely say, I do not like The Sandman. I really tried hard to like it.

I watched the Netflix version of this and it was so good that I wanted to consume more Sandman content...so here I am! These audio performances were well-made, and although I haven't read the comics, they at least felt very authentic. It was very interesting to get more insight into the source material/see what changes they made for the TV show...Masterful writing from Neil Gaiman as usual; each story can have such a drastically different atmosphere from the ones adjacent to it that reading this was quite a rollercoaster ahaha but that said, there is still clearly a solid set of overarching themes and moods that make all the stories fit together cohesively. I'm sure I will continue with the next volume one day!
