Very fun listen on a road trip with my husband. It moves quickly and we both enjoyed listening to Neverwhere. I will say this is a narrative from a comic book, so we did notice some of the narrative would be digested better as a graphic novel and was harsh as a novel. Specifically the "chapter" where Dr. Dee is in the diner. The translation to a novel was done well as they did include descriptions of the comic book panes to fill you in. However this specific chapter were very hard to digest and disturbing to listen to with the sound effects. painting your own picture from a novel makes the story more intimate and personal so this made the diner scene very disturbing you can probably skip the middle section if your struggling to get through it.

My second attempt at listening was successful. The Dr. D series at the beginning almost lost me again, but I stuck with it since people I trust are such fans. The performance was amazing and Neil Gaiman’a imagination is unparalleled.

Wow what an incredible audio, I do enjoy a full cast audio but the whole production of this was just amazing, I felt so immersed in the story. The audio is a bind up of the first 3 books. Preludes and nocturnes follows dream being captured and imprisoned and what he does once he escapes. The dolls house continues as dream tries to recapture things that have escaped from the dream world. Dream country is 4 stories set in the same world with some of the same characters but not following on from the time line. I loved the characters and how gaiman has brought fantasy, mythology and religion into the world and melded it together. Counting down the days until I get my next credit on audible so I can buy act 2

I've always wanted to read The Sandman because Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite authors, but I often have a hard time getting into graphic novels. This audiobook version of The Sandman was perfect for me, and I actually feel inspired to give the graphic novel version another try. At times horrifying, at times thoughtful and even beautiful, I'm glad that I was finally able to engage with this story (or, really, interconnected collection of stories).
