Giving it a 3 because I think there was some real potential here but it just fell flat for me. The character development was basically non-existent. The writing felt really juvenile and lacked creativity. Disappointed.
I haven’t read a series that sucked me in so fast in such a long time. I literally can not wait for the next one. If you love fantasy you HAVE to read this. I love Willow so much she is such a badass!

The world building and magic system was interesting and unique. I liked the romance dynamics between the two characters. I enjoyed this first book in the series, but I find myself questioning if I like it enough to continue reading the books.

um… well, it was definitely something! the writing felt very childish, like something i would have enjoyed as a pre-teen.
the characters also lacked depth. the whole book lacked depth, if i’m being honest. the beginning was good, the middle was complete trash, and the ending tried desperately to redeem this book. not going to lie, it did a decent job at it because it made me slightly curious to read on. but only because it was a bizarre turn of events that i wasn’t expecting, i have to say.
the spicy scenes were somewhat good, which is also a redeeming quality. however, the spice just wasn’t enough to redeem this book completely for me.
i need my romantasy books to be a little bit more… refined, if you will. and this book was not refined in the slightest, lemme tell ya!

I decided to read the kindle book after listening to the audio. The audio, Listened to at a fast speed and missed so much. It is crazy, it’s as if I never read it in the first place. I ate this book up!! I loved everything about it.
