This was not good. If I hadn’t already visited Greece it would put me off. I can’t believe this is the same author as The Island. The book is full of short stories that link a dismal plot. The stories are bizarre and some disturbing.

The back page of this book is very misleading, it implies that the story is about Ellie when in fact its more like a book of poorly written short stories that have nothing in common with each other, except that they were all set in Greece. The main characters were boring and had no personalities of any kind and I really struggled to read to the end. Don’t think I’ll be reading any more books by this author.

Solid collection of short stories which evoke Greek imagery, with quite a loose and underwhelming overarching story to tie the short stories together. It’s fine as a device, but the short stories are really what makes the book

Found this a little simplistic and twee in terms of prose and construction. Concept clever but delivery lacking for me. Most positive aspect was the author's ability to paint a convincing picture of Greece and it's people. Stories and the failed love affair - unconvincing.

A truly lovely, light hearted read. Paints such an alluring picture of Greece that anyone who reads it will surely add this country to the top of their travel list.

This was an ok, easy read. It’s not much of a story though, more a series of short stories based on Greece and the travels of a fictional character. It was fine, easy to dip into and read a section and then put down again. While the author clearly loves the country and describes it well, it didn’t really hang together as a novel for me. But fine for a summer read.
