This book is definitely one of the weirdest books I've read in a long time. From the moment I realized that Glory and her "friend" Ellie gained their power of seeing people's pasts and futures by drinking the remains of some dead bat that they believed had strange powers, I considered putting the book down. Honestly, the only thing that kept me reading was the futures that Glory "read" from the transmissions she saw. Other than that, I didn't get too much out of this.

What I read was actually pretty okay... nothing was really happening after 100 or so pages, and I really needed to pick up something with a little more action or I would've slumped big time.

A.S. King has once again written a fantastic, gorgeous book.

A good quirky book that I'm still processing. There were parts I loved while other parts that made me go 'really? that could never happen.. at least I hope.' All of the characters, while not all likeable, were realistically flawed. And as the layers of the story unwrapped, their motivations became understandable.

A.S. King keeps the hits coming! I really enjoy her writing, especially her use of magical realism.

My daughter recommended. A supremely bizarre, coming-of-age story with subtle feminist undertones and some well-written passages. But mostly strange.

A fabulous YA dystopian future novel, as viewed from our current time. I loved the present day story and the future story, and the writing was some of the best I've read recently. Couldn't put it down! Seriously, Read it!! Some have said it's a feminist manifesto disguised as a YA novel, I can see that. A lovely and important message for young people growing up in today's world, and those of us already grown and seeing scary signposts. (This sounds super pretentious, and I don't mean it that way.)

Glory was a very difficult person so like.
