funny fast-paced

I liked this much more than I thought I was going to. Figured it was going to be another funny book without much substance. But she actually covered a lot and fairly sensitively. She discusses rape and domestic abuse and gun violence. Might be heavier than what some people are hoping for. The laughs and crude jokes are there too. I really enjoyed it.

I don't really know anything about Amy Schumer, never seen her comedy, movies, TV show. She reminds me of those 90s sex positive feminists. Lots of moments of recognition, but nothing really laugh out loud funny. More entertaining than the news.

It wasn't funny. I was expecting funny

This was a funny, light-hearted memoir to read going into the holiday season when my attention span is very short. Similar to Tina Fey's [b:Bossypants|9418327|Bossypants|Tina Fey|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1481509554s/9418327.jpg|14302659], this is a well-written comedian's memoir discussing the life path that brought her to where she is today. Amy Schumer is very open with her struggles with work and family, and possesses way more self-confidence than anyone should ever have. She's had some heartbreak in her life, but isn't afraid to laugh about it and use her mistakes or mistakes of those around her to make her a stronger person.
OK now I want to re-watch Trainwreck. And Inside Amy Schumer.

I loved Tina Fey's Bossypants and Mindy Kaling's Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? but I just can't stand Amy Schumer. Blech. One chapter she spends the whole time talking about how nice it is to be rich. I like her less and less the more I get to know her.

Enjoyed this far more than I anticipated.

I think Amy Schumer is hilarious. I don't mind raunchy crude humor, and some of her sketches on her show have made me laugh so hard I cry. So I was expecting this book to be hilarious. And it WAS, don't get me wrong, but there was so much more to it than just sex jokes and booze. She gets very personal at times, sometimes even serious, and it made me like her even more. She's very honest about herself and her life, and in a world full of liars, I appreciate that honesty. Great book!

I very much enjoyed this memoir, especially the chapter(s) that touched on Amy's relationship with her mom. I look forward to seeing more films, skits & books by Amy Schumer in the future!

On the one hand - this book was weird. I have never known anyone to be as obsessed about their genitalia and sexuality as Amy Schumer. I almost stopped reading after about the 3,000th mention of her vagina.

On the other hand, it was surprisingly personal. I felt as though I was listening to her therapy sessions. It's interesting to hear about the stories that made her who she is. I would have enjoyed learning about this stuff more than the overload of crass remarks.
