I'm not necessarily an Amy Schumer fan, so I was surprised to discover how much I really liked some of the essays in this book. Looking past her abrasive style, I thought some of the stories showed vulnerability and honesty and the analyses of her experiences were insightful with important messages.
Some funny stories and I got a real sense of Amy as a person behind the character.
Lots of rude stories in here!
Audiobook was narrated by the author, which helped create a chatty tone to the book.

I don’t know how much you care about Amy, but I’ve never been a die hard fan or anything. I really didn’t need to know how much she loved sex. Like good for you, but also ew? The reason I did somewhat enjoy this book is because I did appreciate her maturity when speaking of her family.
Love her! Her brutal honesty and the fact that she can laugh at herself.
This book was hilarious. Schumer is so damn funny. This is not for the easily offended. But she truly is an inspiration for those who don't know how to love themselves. This was a good one!!
It took literally months to read this short book.
When Amy Schumer was raised into the realm of megastar, I was thrilled. Finally someone with a loud voice who flaunts her imperfections and does not apologize for demanding a seat at the table, all while making us laugh. Unfortunately The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo comes off as slapdash and bland. We get it, you've come a long way, you've struggled, and now you are passing on your success and wealth to your family and friends. We get that you aren't perfect, that you wear your imperfections are like a badge of honor (why write a memoir if not to show one's humanness?) Schumer's insights are not always explored, and she has a frustrating habit of meandering off topic (not to comedic effect). For all of the work that could have been done to spice this thing up, Schumer is unabashedly herself, and that I have to respect.

You have to like Amy Schumer to enjoy this book. There are some dark stories and some funny ones. Some references didn’t age well. But it was still enjoyable to listen to.
There were a few parts of this that were funny but there are also parts cringe worthy. I definitely don't recommend it
