DNF at 24 percent his reason for not being with her was not compelling. An odd prologue...Ash told me to stop.

I'm so happy to have come across this series! I've been craving more Rockstar romance that isn't cheesy or cringey, and this fit the bill! I'm actually quite surprised that I haven't heard more about it.
I love a good second chance romance that doesn't skimp out on the details of how things used to be, and this has a good balance of past/present timelines to answer any questions you might have early on in their story. Gabe and Harper are definitely soulmates, and although it took 8 years for it to happen, they were able to heal each other in ways no one else would have been able to.
I didn't like Gabe in the beginning. He came off as a guy who was used to always getting what he wanted, pretty arrogant. But little by little, he grew on me..the more we learned about him and harper's past, the more I liked him. I also loved his nickname for her--some nicknames can be corny but this one was cute and suited her.
I wish the audiobook was done in dual narration, though. I'm not a big fan of male narrator doing both voices--it's kind of cringey. I'd recommend reading this one with your eyeballs for the best experience!

New to me author. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It had a twist that I hadn't seen coming. Interesting characters. There are secondary characters that would be nice to have stories told too.

Is it hot in here? š„µ This book is Extra Spicy! š¶ļø
This is the first book that I have read from this author, and I am thoroughly pleased. This is a second chance, rockstar romance. Gabe and Harper will have you feeling all of the anger, sadness, Lust and Love. I canāt wait to read Book 2.

This was my first L Ann book. Rockstar romance is my favorite trope, and it came highly recommended.
Now, I leveled my rating at 3 stars. The storyline, the entertainment factor, the vibes? 4-4.5 āļø easily for me. But there were some writing issues, grammar, plotting, formatting issues that took me out of the story and Iād rate that at like a 2 star. So, 3 star overall.
The story: love. I adore rockstar, I adore second chance, I adore scorned ex who is NOT impressed with her ex now famous boyfriend. I liked how Harper and Gabeās relationship was developed. We get the past and the present intertwined. Yeah Gave is a man whore sex god who cures Harper of all her bad sex past, but that doesnāt even bother me. I have no qualms about the story itself. Except, as a said this was my first L Ann book and I was not expecting the random paranormal twist at the 90% mark. Like what?? But it is characters from her paranormal series. So that kinda makes sense? Not really though. Still weird.
The technical issues: there were some major formatting errors that bothered me a lot. I read on Kindle, that matters. A lot of entire paragraphs highlighted when it was obvious only a portion was supposed to be. In the text exchanges a sentence that was like āHarper couldnāt help but thinkā but in the text bubble as if she sent that as a text, which she obviously didnāt. Those type of issues. My main issue comes from the fact that I donāt know if L Ann knows how to close out a scene. Some things just felt like ended mid scene. Gabe is showing Harper his house and talking about fame and then BAM suddenly he is saying goodbye. Or. Stopping in the middle of a sex scene. A lot of points in the book that were glossed over instead of digging deeper into those side storylines.
Iām excite the next book! I really did enjoy this.
