I loved Paris For One and didn't realize it had the Other Stories. I had to make myself finish the Other Stories.
ARC provided by Penguin UK via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thanks to both!
I would give this collection of short stories an overall 3 stars
Paris for one: nothing spectacular, but cute and sweet, and Fabien was just dreamy. I'm not sure the French would be very happy with the way they are depicted though. 2 Stars.
Between the tweets: a story about fidelity and the things we do for the people we love. Bittersweet. 2 Stars.
Love in the afternoon: love after 14 years of marriage and three kids. Maybe a bit too pessimistic but real and sweet. 3 Stars.
A bird in the hand: nothing wrong with this one, but cheating is a pet peeve of mine, so it was a no-no for me. Plus, the reason why they broke up felt really stupid. 1 Star.
Crocodile shoes: silly and fun, and sad and deep at the same time. It's amazing how much a bit of self-confidence can change a person. 3 Stars.
Holdups: weirdest (and most hilarious) robbery ever! Still in the silly and fun category. 3 Stars.
Honeymoon in Paris: two couples on their honeymoon start to think that maybe marriage is not that sweet after all. All four MCs got to my nerves for different reasons, so I couldn't really enjoy this even though the idea was good :( 2 Stars
Last year's coat: actual, real, wonderful true love. 5 Stars.
13 Days with John C: too many wrong things with this one for me - the cheating, the husband's attitude, the MC's resignation… just no. 1 Star.
Margot: the kind of woman I want to be when I'm old :) 4 Stars
The Christmas list: about how you don't have to put up with any crap. Also, hell yeah, you rock girl! :)) 5 Stars
This was my first JoJo Moyes book and it was not what I expected at all. This was probably my fault, because although I haven't read it I know the whole story of Me before you, but I still expected this to be more like your usual chick lit. Instead we get a collection of stories mostly about mature couples and the highs and lows of life as half of a couple. I enjoyed most of the stories, but the book left me with a bittersweet feeling - all those lousy husbands and the wives that just accept that that's life for them after marriage, even with the happy endings made me feel a bit sad. It was a nice change from my usual chick lits, but I wish I had known that this was more romance than chick lit, maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I had known what to expect.
I would recommend this for fans of romance with a dose of reality and family stories.

This might have been better but the readers of the different stories were hard to listen to at times.
Hard to rate - I loved the title story/novella and a few of the other stories were good, but a couple just didn’t work for me. I also didn’t love that the audio changed narrators - there was one narrator with a super dramatic reading style that I hated and I know that colors my review. I’d have been happy with just Paris For One - that was sweet and fun and heartwarming and super romantic, and who doesn’t like to read about Paris?!

This collection of stories was cute. My favorite was of course the main one. The romance was adorable a bit predictable but entertaining just the same.
medium-paced
Nell plays life safe, plans out every detail, doesn’t spend beyond her limits, and has never been to Paris. She springs for a weekend trip to the City of Lights and Love with her boyfriend, but finds herself sans boyfriend. She begins to take more chances and do things she has yet to experience, like eating out by herself. She accidentally spills wine all over her server, Fabian, whom she runs into the next day at a museum.
As they get to know each other over this weekend, she becomes more confident and seizes the day, while simultaneously inspiring Fabian to write, restructure his family’s business, and move past his ex-girlfriend.
After the best weekend of her life, Nell begins to really live her life and returns to Paris 6 months later. She reunites with Fabian and the reader is left to imagine the rest of their happy ending.
