I really enjoy Jojo Moyes writing so I was already sure I'd enjoy this collection before I started reading and it certainly lived up to my expectations. I've read a couple of the stories before, including the title novella, but I found the second reading just reminded me of how much I had enjoyed them previously. I love the light touch that the author uses when describing love and romance and the variety of characters kept me interested. I particularly liked the festive themed stories at the end, I'd love to just abandon everything and fly off to spend the holidays with a friend some day!

3.5 stars

Really cute book with cosy, short, yet captivating, stories.

Love Moyes. Really enjoyed Paris for one and all the others. Made you laugh, cry and think.

The first “book” was awesome. I adored it. The characters were likable and fun and dynamic, and their relationships with each other were realistic and colorful.
It was downhill from there.
The rest of the stories were awkward and disjointed after that glowing centerpiece. Why not just leave the first story as a book of its own? Why burden it with other stories which are not particularly connected to the first other than in occasional geographical features?
I think my note on page 193 pretty much sums up how I feel about this book: “I only JUST got acquainted with these characters and now you’re ripping them away again???”
I wanted to get to know the characters like I had in the first story!! But I didn’t get a chance to! And this the other stories feel flat on the pavement because I am too far from the target demographic to relate to the protagonists in the short-lived stories.
But I finished. I found that I had to break up this book with *other* books because I couldn’t handle the abrupt skip from one unsatisfied-wife story to the next. It was so JARRING.
The three star review would be one/two stars if I didn’t like the first story so much. The first story gets five stars. The remaining stories get much lower ratings. So I compromised in my overall review.
Not my cup of tea.

This book was so sweet! I liked Paris for One, the novella, the best, but the other short stories were cute as well, especially "The Christmas List". Jojo Moyes' writing is always so lovely!

Sometimes, you just need a sweet, feel good book. A book that is like climbing into your favorite pajamas under your coziest blanket with a lovely cup of tea. Paris for One and Other Stories by Jojo Moyes is just that. Look at the deeper message about relationships and life choices, or enjoy the sweet, feel-good stories at face value. Either way, this book delights and charms.

I loved Paris for One, but the rest of the stories were pretty much a bust for me. Paris for one is the bulk of the novel, which is good. Just stop reading after you finish that one.

It was fine. A pretty basic story of a girl in Paris. I think I enjoyed the little short stories better though.

The stories in this are cute and quick reads. So many of these stories are interesting snippets and thought starters that give a little bit of detail in the mind of Jojo Moyes. The writing is beautiful and poignant.

After the first story, it was a struggle to finish this book. Many of the stories started out engaging and slightly interesting but fell flat nearly halfway in. Pretty disappointed as I can usually expect a feel good set of experiences when I read Moyes
