Paris for One is a beautifully done compilation of short stories that starts with a tale of an Englishwoman named Nell who ends up on alone on a romantic weekend in Paris. The story begins with a feeling of desperation as you see Nell arrive in a new country, unable to understand the language, and quite new to the idea of spontaneous notions. What starts out as disastrous, turns into something lovely and I found myself ultimately smiling and craving a cafe au lait.
The book then contains several shorter stories, all with a female heroine in her own right. I found myself cheering for every woman who is internalizing her insecurities, or struggling in her marriage, those whom are waiting to fulfill their dreams, or who let their dream slip away.
As a middle aged woman who is blissfully tied down with three children and a career, a loving husband and a home to take care of...I found this short story selection to be a beautiful reminder of who I was before I became who I am.

3.5 stars maybe, I really was just reading this to get some Spanish and it looked easy. Yeah it was good enough, definitely in Spanish (I actually liked the mix of Spanish French and English and how they all worked together since it’s a translated book, ex in French they say parlez-vous anglais? And then respond si hablo ingles because Spanish is English) nothing too special though. I read Paris Para Uno then a few of the other short stories but they were not worth it

Cute, easy short story collection. Would be good for a beach vacation
My first experience with short stories in the romance genre. And this is not my go to genre. But I enjoyed some of the stories.
