This book got better with every page. I sympathized with the main character deeply and it got me thinking about how susceptible most people are at certain points in their lives to be lured into a cult. Insanely well written and brutally human.

I loved it! The main chararchter is so observering, a trait that paralyses her, just as her love for Suzanne does. It’s a great story about parents, wanting to be seen and surpressed queerness. Just as in The Guest there comes no satisfactory ending, no redemption for the reader. Sometimes life is uncomfortable, and not all stories have an end.

some standout quotes from an otherwise boring book:
“I could feel his dick rear against my thighs.”
“You can tell she liked it… Ooh… Ooh, yeah, mmm.”
“I surprised myself with how much I didn’t want her to disappear.” (ok this one’s actually good)
“An ugly, dirty habit for dirty people. Are you an ugly person?” (I’m gonna start saying this)
“…Suzanne’s milky body. Closing his hand on her breast.”
“When he came, he gasped, wetly.”

Amo todo lo que tiene gusto a culto.

Good, but not great. Overwrought overly much. When she was telling the story instead of fussy insights, that was good.
