I cried.
It ended, and I cried.
It ended and the ending was perfect, and I cried.
The Broken Empire may well be the single best trilogy of books I have ever read in my life. Mark Lawrence smiths his words with subtle skill that suggests not only a writer, but someone who loves to write. He doesn't just use words, he romances the English language on the page.
As for Jorg...I loved him. He made no pretense that he was a good man, but in the end? He was the best man.

Still not a huge fan of how the builder tech is entwined to the story but a fitting end for jorg
I really enjoyed this. An unexpected ending. Beautifully done. I wrote a very spoiler filled blog post on my thoughts about it http://tenaciousreader.wordpress.com/2013/09/01/my-very-spoiler-filled-thoughts-on-the-broken-empire-by-mark-lawrence/

3.5 stars. The journey in the 3rd book of the trilogy is interesting enough, but the ending feels somewhat abrupt and abstract compared to the rest.

Very good book. Only reason it is not 5* is because the ending felt rushed and sudden. Same as the last book.
Great book worry a very sad ending. Although I knew it had to end that way, I wish it hadnt.
