Incredibly dense, but gives much needed context to the creation of the state of Israel and how deeply it has disenfranchised Palestinians. I appreciated how the author explained the ulterior motives of global leaders and the layers of deceit that have gone into convincing the world that Israel exists for the benefit of the Jewish people, when in reality this is used as a cover for these same countries' antisemitism and geopolitical agendas. Take it slow with this one.

I highly recommend this book. Well written nonfiction with a quick but not overwhelming pace. The Israel-Palestine issues may seem exhausting and extensive, but he breaks them down into easy to follow eras. The issue is actually not that difficult to comprehend and vital to understand- Free Palestine.

I knew nothing about the Palestinian struggle, the Zionist movement, and the role of the US in the conflict. This book is a good start, and I learned a lot. It's quite dense and reads similarly to a textbook. I found that listening to it in an audio book format worked better for me, because I typically find it hard to digest nonfiction books.

While the book is most definitely informative, his intimate involvement in the conflict brings a color to the text that I think is so compelling to readers, especially those who are learning about it for the first time. His opening dedication is a prime example:
I dedicate this book to my grandchildren, Tariq, Idris, and Nur, all born in the twenty-first century, who will hopefully see the end of this hundred years' war

This is a challenging read/listen. It has lived experience of the author and thier family in the book. It gives an balance and comprehensive examination and experience of the colonisation of Israel and Palestinian life.

This is a must read for anyone who wants to know about the history of the Palestine.
