During this drawn out battle, someone seems to be targeting the contenders, leading to violent deaths. This book fits in the mystery, fantasy, dystopian, and romance genres!

The book, once you get to THE main problem, is predictable. This book was SJM’s first, so I won’t judge too harshly, but my friend and I both knew who the main antagonist was going to be about halfway through.

Fun! It was cute. Definitely reads for a younger audience than some of her other works, but I expected that - she wrote this as a teen, after all. It was fun to see the seeds of certain ideas/worldbuilding things that come up in later works.
