This was devastatingly beautiful.

DID NOT FINISH: 61%

I had really high hopes for this book because A Thousand Boy Kisses was so good, but this one just feels flat. There’s way too much rambling and I feel like there’s nothing happening. I hate that I can’t finish this book because the concept is meaningful and important, but the overall execution is just lacking for me. This book is frankly too long

Book 2 in the series. I’m ready for more pain…

Oh gosh don’t listen to the audio while at work 😭

This is book two in the series and follows along with Poppy’s sister and her grief. I wish a trip like they took existed when I was young (it probably did but my dad just didn’t care). It would have been so helpful.

But when they shared all their stories. Holy shit. That was rough. The way they spoke of depression was brilliant. I’ve never heard it spoken of that way.

“Grief hurts worse when you are alone.”

Fun fact (from the book): I didn’t know the Taj Mahal was built for his wife who died in childbirth.

I find it interesting that in both books the difference between male and female grief. The men tend to lean in towards the anger while the females retreat inward.

I really enjoyed the first book and was excited to dive into the second one. The concept had a strong start, but unfortunately, it dragged on and fell flat for me.

Repetitive and felt never ending. The last 100 pages or so just wanted it to be finished.

Wow. The book was fine. Sad, great and amazing. The authors acknowledgements were THE BEST PART. She truly is a great writer and even tho I enjoyed a thousand boy kisses more, one thing I learned in this book is to not take things for granted, I very much so loved this book too. It is only fair to give this 5⭐️ because the author deserves every bit of it❤️
