This was absolutely beautiful. Grief is a concept I struggle with and reading books about grappling with that, is preparing me for when I do eventually have to navigate that myself.
A Thousand Boy Kisses ruined me. A Thousand Broken Pieces ruined me and put me back together. Savannah and Carl’s journey of grief - along with Travis, Dylan, Lilli and Jade - was inspiring. I adore how Tillie Cole writes the truth; grief is not easy, it is not linear, it is dealt with all different ways.
The different forms of therapy that took place during their grief trip really highlights how deeply grief can taint one’s heart and soul. But in the end, we may not be the same but we will be put back together. It was such a good read for me personally.
The epilogue was devastating to me though, I will admit. Amongst my tears for Poppy and Cillian, I realised at this point Rune would also be passed. To learn how he passed was like a knife to the heart. But I also appreciate Sav’s outlook on it. He is now with Poppy, happy and waiting for their other loved ones. And that’s how I like to think of death too - we will meet late loved ones up there and wait for our others.

It was fine but I feel like I expected the story to maybe go another way and that made me disappointed. Still a good story
