Overall, I enjoyed reading this book!!

There are two major plot twists that I did not see coming what so ever. So big that I literally gasped when I read them!
It’s interesting to read about Merritt and Lydia’s developing relationship, and how it plays a role because there was obviously an ulterior motive on someone’s behalf. It all eventually makes sense… for example,
why did Merritt not tell Luca after his meetings before he made it home? Why did Merritt befriend this woman that obviously thought of Luca as her husband as well? Why would Lydia agree to spend time with this woman after everything she’s been through?

I rated this 4 ⭐️s because I never grew to love any of the characters. The set up is dragged out, but maybe it is necessary for the big plot twist. I would recommend this to anyone who loves a plot twist and looking for a quick read.

Merritt Coletto and her husband, Luca, have the perfect life. Until one day there’s a knock on their door from Luca’s first wife, Lydia who has been missing for 10 years and presumed dead. What happened to Lydia and what does this mean for Luca’s new family?

I’ve never been interested in domestic thrillers before, but the synopsis of Unmissing reeled me in and I just had to check it out! This book was enjoyable for me, but it wasn’t particularly extraordinary.

The book got immediately to the point. The story got started in the prologue, as it should’ve. I thought the pacing was nice and I found the writing to flow well. However, it’s basically what I expect of every domestic thriller and that’s why I don’t really read them. It had very predictable twists and unlikable characters repeatedly making stupid decisions. I figured out the twists literally just from reading the synopsis and the prologue. If you go into this book thinking you know what’s going to happen, then you’re probably right. But, if you’re not expecting anything too shocking, this book will be enjoyable for you.

Overall, I did think the book was worth my time, it just wasn’t a standout read for me. If you are a fan of domestic thrillers, I think you’ll enjoy this book!

Thank you Thomas & Mercer and NetGalley for this arc! All opinions are my own.

TW: rape and torture mentioned multiple times, animal cruelty, fertility issues

Lydia has been missing for ten years. She was declared legally dead and her husband, Luca, is now married to Merritt. Now she’s back, but she doesn’t want to go to the police yet.

The story is told from Lydia and Merritt’s perspectives. It gives a good idea of what each of them are feeling but, of course, there’s things we don’t find out until later.

This book was interesting and held my attention. It seemed a bit repetitive in the beginning and then I thought it was going to come to an  end too quickly but it all worked out at an appropriate pace.
