This YA/NA book had me giggling, squeeling, and kicking my legs. If you're like me, a fool for slowburns, read this book.
I liked how the fated mates trope was done in this book. Estela is scared, on edge, and every one of her beliefs gets upended. It makes sense for her to need time to warm up to our smooth boy, King Ma'Teo. Much to his disappointment. But we stan a king who respects his girls' boundaries within the possibilities of their situation.
The book ends on a cliffhanger, and sadly, that means we have to wait till next year how this duology ends. Don't let that deter you from reading this book, though. You won't regret it!
