This novel was the rare case of the sequel improving upon the first installment. More time is taken to immerse readers in the world and the truly excellent magic system it contains. While there was still some questionable moments between the main couple (
the beach literally as you’re freezing to death???
), this was both a very fun read and a satisfying conclusion.

I love complete duologies. I liked this book better than the first. I believe there were fist pumps when Oden made an appearance. I really loved how Freya redeemed herself and grew as a character. I will reread.

I can’t even bring myself to read a single bad review about this. Words can’t express how much I enjoyed this duology. Jensen has a fan in me. Something about the way she writes just works for me. 

This was fast paced and exciting, and the ending was soooo satisfying. Definitely a fave of mine so far.
