Yup I’ll read anything Tracy Wolff. It’s no secret I love Crave but her romances are amazing also. I’ve read 7 others from her and they’re all just amazing and this one was no different. I want a Ryder to love me (among other things) and friends like the rest of Shaken Dirty and my brother to be like Jared. I read this book in like a day in a half because I was way too infested. My only minimal complaint is that the epilogue was kind of a spoiler for the next two books but there’s not a whole lot of mystery in romances so I’m not too upset.
That being said, I don’t know how Tracy always makes a main character I want to be and a hot guy I want to be with.

Rock Stars. Best Friends. Little Sister.

He also backed off so quickly she knew that damn pact had struck again. Back in high school she’d figured out pretty quickly that there was an unspoken agreement among most rock gods – thou sister shall be off limits, whether she wants to be or not.

Jamison's big brother Jared, is in a band-Shaken Dirty-has been since she was a little girl. Now years later they are the sexy, most delicious Rock Stars. And now Jamison wants what she has always dreamt about, Ryder. Lead singer and big brothers best friend.

It didn't matter that there was no sign of recognition in his eyes, no knowledge that the woman he was looking as like that was actually her. Jamison. For one moment he wanted her the way she’d always wanted him.
It was more than enough.
...
He hadn't recognized her from the stage, hadn't know he’d been lusting after Jared’s little sister – and one of his closest friends. And now that he did, he didn't know what the hell to do with all the thoughts-the needs-that were still clawing at him from the inside.

Ryder and Jamison have some heavy chemistry. You could say it has been building since their preteens but it is hard to pinpoint actually where a teenage crush turns into irrevocable love but it happens in the pages of this wickedly good book. The perfect love story is best friend falling in love with the little sister or with this book little sister falling in love with big brothers best friend.

He was playing with fire. He knew he was. Just like he knew he was going to get burned – this was Jared’s sister, after all.

The only obstacles standing in Jamison's way are Jared, being the overprotected big brother and Ryder who cannot get passed that she is and will always be his best friends little sister but also one of his closet friends as well. Should not be too hard for her, especially since everything has crumbed around her and she has nothing else to loose.

“Jamison is a good girl most of the time. A rule follower who does what she’s told. But lately-in case you haven’t noticed-she’s been breaking rules left and right.” –Wyatt.

Now lets talk sexy covers because this one is in my top five for this year. Just *sigh* yummy. And I love the heroin's name. Jamison, with a twist of spelling, fits like the liquor. It looks placid and you believe you can handle more than a sip. But just because it has flavors of honey and spice does not mean it will not burn if you take on too much before you are ready.

Which makes Ryder perfect for her because he learns how to handle his feelings but also how to handle Jamison, not as his best friends little sister but as a women he desires.

She was one of his closest friends in the world, not to mention his best friend’s baby sister, and he had no business noticing how lush her breasts were. How curvy her ass was. How long her legs ere. He’d know her since she wore pigtails and played with Barbies. Thinking about how much he liked the way she looked was sick. Twisted.

I cannot say enough good things about this book and I cannot wait for the remaining four. This first book sets the theme and gives us a great start on the other remaining band members: Quinn, Wyatt, Jared, and Drew. Rock Star themed books are starting to become a new trend but Tracy Wolff has hit the spot with sex, rock and roll, and falling in love.

DNF at 46%. I couldn’t continue. This may be the worst book I read this year. I’m sorry, but terrible writing. Not to be mean but it just seemed like it was written by an amateur. Not good.

A little boring and repetitive, but otherwise an okay story.

Admittedly rockstars aren’t my thing… there’s really only one who does it for me and he certainly doesn’t have long hair and play hard rock… (*sigh* Chris Martin)

BUT I wanted to try this series – I’m a big fan of the Brazen series books and why not try a series title ‘Shaken Dirty #1’.

Jamison has known Ryder Montgomery forever. Ryder is friends with her brother, Jared and just so happens to be the frontman of the band they’re both in called… you guessed it. Shaken Dirty.

Shaken Dirty has started to take off… they’ve become wildly popular and fame is affecting the members of the band differently. Jamison has always had a crush on Ryder, though he’s never seen her as more than a little sister.

“I grew up with the whole group of you. I saw you screw up with girls, crash your cars, get grounded. Hell, I saw both of you cry over guitar lessons and G.I. Joe dolls. And now you’re all grown up, bad-ass rockers who can have anything and anyone they desire. Whoop-de-do.”

A streak of bad luck in Jamison’s life sets up the story and has her joining the band on the tour bus to cook for them, which puts her in close proximity of Ryder who suddenly has taken more of an interest in Jamison than he ever has before.

Ryder of course is the tortured, rockstar. He’s still struggling with a tragic loss and so he refuses to let anyone in emotionally. One-night stands are his go-to and besides, as the sister of his best friend, Jamison is off-limits. She’s worth more than a fling and just one night.

"He was playing with fire. He knew he was. Just like he knew he was going to get burned-this was Jared's sister, after all. Little Jamison,"

But the draw they have to each other is undeniable and they eventually succumb to the chemistry, but Jamison isn’t fooling herself. She knows that Ryder will only be around for a short while, and she’s going to take advantage of it while she can.

I will say that the tension and build up for these two was really well done. That forbidden relationship feel that Wolfe gives the story adds to the anticipation of when everything is going to hit the fan. I also really enjoyed Jamison as a character. She is determined to make her own way in life not depending on her brother’s wallet for anything. It definitely made her admirable in my eyes.

I think for me though, the story fell a bit flat. I didn’t really connect with the characters, even the secondary ones in the form of the other band members. And for as much as I like sexy times… these were a little overdone for me. And that’s saying a lot.

If you’re looking for a story that features damaged characters with an emotionally heavy ‘friends to more’ theme then this series might be a good fit for you.

"4 out of 5 stars! Attraction brews between two long-time friends while they deal with staying within close proximity to each other and try to stay apart, which--of course--doesn't work out but makes for one HOT read!

Jamison & Ryder are a combustible duo in regards to their ever-growing relationship."

Something about this book just didn't work for me. Maybe Ryder was a little too tortured emo rocker. I didn't love the main characters which is surprising since I enjoyed them in book 2 which is about Quinn and Elise. Good thing I read book 2 first. Here's hoping book 3 is better since Wyatt is most definitely one messed up rock star.

No where near as good as the second one (which I read first a few years ago). The characters still had a lot of potential but the whole conflict could have been fixed by an honest conversation that they didn't really have a good reason not to have. The Big Gesture was excellent though.
