No Gods, No Monsters was an incredible book. It stuck with me. The audiobook was more incredible in that it was the most immersive audiobook I had listened to. We are the Crisis follow this path. The story picks up several years after the end of No Gods, No Monsters. Life is not better. The future does not look brighter. The characters have to negotiate through so many obstacles as they try to live their lives, including fear founded in reality. A hard book to read or listen to but incredible all the same.
I received an advance review copy from netgalley. I read it and wrote an honest review.

A wonderful book and amazing continuation of No Gods No Monsters. Established characters are deepened, the lore grows, and new faces greet the reader. Everyone is well characterized and I do love the writing. However, characters you love will due and, like with the first book, it ends with very little resolution and moreso a cliffhanger in expectation of a next installment.

I love love love love love this series! I also cannot recommend stronger that you read it by listening to the audiobooks. The narrator is perfection… The most handsome deep voice it's simply butter! I absolutely love this series and I got to say I don't remember if I gave the first book five stars… I probably did… But I really liked the second book even more. I think what was so interesting about the first book is you're not exactly sure what is going on and when you figure it out you're like… Well hell that was quite the twist! But then the second book explains so much more about this world which I think was even more enjoyable even though I really love a good twist! Really if you like social commentary sci-fi/fantasy you gotta read this book… Well I mean listen to this book because like I said butter people! I actually really hope they turned it into a series because damn Cauldwell Trumbull is a phenomenal writer… And storyteller!
