This is a huge book that does the work of setting up such a rich and fun fantasy world and I can't wait to learn more about it. I love Sasha and Lorn and I am so excited to see their adventures together. Sasha is such a strong character and her friendships with Lyla and the coven in Middleton are so fun. I will say the structure of the book kind of lost me and it took my longer to finish. The first half of the book is Sasha's point of view and the second half is Lorn's point of view of the same events. It made it a little repetitive, even when the author skips over an exact retelling of events, we still have to kind of see them twice. I wish that the book had been shorter, just a little, and that Lorn's POV had been incorporated throughout. SPOILER: this book also ends with Sasha just getting to Between, which also makes the length a little harder to justify. I got to the end of Sasha's POV going through the portal with Lorn thinking that we were going to get some fun fish-out-of-water stuff with her in Between and that didn't exactly happen. END SPOILER. I am really excited for the next installment though and to get to see Lorn and Sasha really be together.
