Bloodfire Quest picks up right where we left off at the end of Wards of Faerie. Arlingfan has been chosen by the Ellcrys to be the one to bear the seed to the Bloodfire and become the new Ellcrys. Half the Druid party is lost in the Forbidding, and the rest are scattered on their own individual paths.

While this was an improvement in nearly every day from the first book in the trilogy, the main characters Aphenglow, Arlingfant, Railing, and Redden remained frustratingly insufferable.
This book like the first doesn't really end as much as it just stops only to be picked up at that exact point in the next book.

I want to enjoy this one (it's Brooks!!), but it just felt too repetitive of the book before this.

I'm not rating this 2nd book of trilogy as high as the first. The timeline is way too compressed for the plot to really work well. The twins are rather immature for their age and level of responsibility. Yes, I know they are 17. Still a good read.
