A very very sad and depressing book. Everything about this book is sad. Even the movie is sad. But I have to admit, the writing is good.
I read this years ago, just adding it to my shelf now. I am not counting this in my 2019 Goodreads Challenge
I definitely did not enjoy this book, and found none of the lead characters to have any redeeming qualities.
Not since the Kardashians have I given less of a shit about a group of people.

This book was strange and confusing, though well written.
I've never read a book where I disliked the main characters more! Kathy and Lester are the most self absorbed, immature and unlikable people. I gave it 2 stars because I enjoyed reading about colonels life and historical references to Iran but everything else deserves 0 stars.
