This book took me awhile to read. Ended up getting an audiobook because it was the only way I could finish it.
I don’t want to give it a bad review because it had a good plot and took a turn I was not expecting at the end.
I just feel like it had a bunch of unnecessary detail. The book personally to me, could’ve been much shorter.

Couldn't muster sympathy for any of the characters, so the book fell flat.

All I remember is that it was not uplifting.

Deeply moving book with characters that haunted me when I was not with them. Tragic intertwined stories, with unexpected plot shifts. It took me quite a long time to read this because of the inner dialog and sometimes stream-of-consciousness writing. I would return over and over to it - wanting it to end, and yet not willing to be finished with it. Very interesting - would love to see the movie.
emotional medium-paced

Not a fan. My mom said it was very intense and thriller-y, and it was, to an extent. I just wasn't surprised by the ending.

I hate to say it, but I liked the movie better.

This story escalates quickly and unrealistically.
The characters are all kind of pathetic and depressing and and I wasn't too broken up about the tragic ending.
The author does not do a great job of writing from a woman's perspective.
But I didn't dislike the book, hence the three stars instead of two.
I'd watch the movie if I came across it on tv. The lack of depth in character seems like it would make a better movie anyway.

Ugh. I finished this out of sheer stubbornness. Which makes me like all of the unlikeable and unsympathetic characters that populate this book.
