While it had an interesting premise and multiple POVs a là Six of Crows, this book quickly delved into generic YA fiction. The teased gay feelings between Jude and Hector, and Jude and Anton with nothing coming of either felt like pandering to a more liberal audience without actually needing to commit to a gay character. Overall, this book wasn’t BAD but was excessively mediocre, and should not have a sequel. The progression of the story was dragged out too much in the second half of the book, presumably so that there would still be conflict to resolve in the sequel, but I do not care about the plot, or quite frankly the characters, enough to read the sequel.

This book is so delightful!! It is well written and fast paced, with good characters. I do find the romance slightly lacking and enjoyed how the author switched how I expected certain things to go, and which characters would betray or befriend someone else. I do find it interesting, when some of the characters roles were switched and how it altered my perspective on everything. The strange dynamics between all the characters and how their lives intersect because of the prophecy was very entertaining.

Great Job, I can’t wait to continue on and read the rest of the trilogy!

I think this book deserves its 3.78 rating, as it is between a 3 and 4 stars read for me.
It started sloooooooooow, and for a while I was bored (which is why a chose 3⭐️), especially because I thought one aspect of the book was a bit overdone and so I kind of expected more, hoped for more.
And I got it! This book gets better and better towards the end, so I’ll be starting book 2 as soon as possible.
I won’t go into too much detail because I don’t want to spoil anything tho.
Can’t wait to keep reading.

This book was fantastic. There are so many intricate storylines that weave together, finally spilling into one insane tale. It is a prophecy that can’t be stopped, and six people whose destinies are twined together inexplicably. This book is a wild ride of revelations and twists that will leave you hooked until the end.
