I really wanted to like this, and I probably would have if 50-75 had been further edited out. It dragged so badly. It would have been an entertaining read, but the slow drag of conversations and the bits between the action was so drawn out that I was so super bored. I liked the main characters, but I didn't care about what was happening half of the time. The plot was not dramatic or intense enough to allow for the slow pace.

Definitely up there for one of my favourite books this year. It has some of the best wobuilding for a new fantasy world I've read ever and the whole magic system and history was fascinating. It also has the least cringy sex scenes I have ever read and I'm really glad they didn't take anything away from the story whatsoever.

Absolutely amazing. The writing was fantastic, I thoroughly enjoyed the authors prose. the characters were extremely enjoyable and relatable, and the romance was fantastic. There was a perfect amount of angst, smut, and genuine love and care for each other. A fun mystery and an interesting magic system. Would recommend if you’re looking for a refreshing high quality queer book.
