This was a really good overall history, however it was almost too vast, and her focus on China and India seemed rather half-hearted. It should have been titled "the history of the countries that made the west" as that's probably more accurate.

I do like how easy to read this book was, however, there are still some things I would have liked to see in this book. The women's side! The only story even remotely looking at how the woman could have felt that we got in this 800-page book, was Cleopatra, and even that was only two pages. When starting a chapter she never uses BC or BCE so I assume BCE, but the timelines don't add up. Lastly, when she talks about an emperor, she talks about them as if you already know who they are. I know and researched the more common one before, but some of the lesser-known ones, Googleing them was like searching for a needle in a haystack.  Read for homeschool on August 20, 2021.
