They finally got the nerves to give on.
Even though they were best friends, they both were in love with each other but were afraid of telling the other how they really felt for fear of losing the other. No woman could even take Rayne's place to Maxon. All of the women were just placeholders to him. A waste of his time. Rayne felt the same way. No man was Maxon. They'd given each other their virginity at 16 years, and neither one wanted anyone else. They both thought that as long as they were single, they still had each other's friendship. That is until Messy Mandy forced their hand.
This story was something that I just could not grasp the reason why the couple continued to be sexually involved and just be satisfied with a friends with benefits relationship, lying to themselves with what others could plainly see. Their biggest problem was their lack of communication when they were younger. I just could not relate to this story.
