I would recommend this book to anyone. I think the story is fast paced enough and that the science is not too dense that anyone could enjoy it. This is helped by the fact that the main character is a primary school science teacher, so he explains the science to the reader as if he were talking to his class. The book was also unexpectedly emotional towards the end. The relationship between the the main character and the alien is portrayed genuinely, they have to solve so many problems together that the friendship they develop grows naturally.
The only thing I did'n't like was the humour, it was a tad immature and juvenile, but it does not detract from the story.

After reading “the Martian” and absolutely loving it, I needed to read more of his works. “Project Hail Mary” has all the same science and sass as the Martian but is a bit more fun and sci-fi instead of a edge of your seat thriller. From beginning to end I was surprised and captivated with the twists and turns and I fell in love with the characters. The ending is super satisfying and doesn’t make me want to throw the book out the window so there is that. One of my all time favorite books! A must read for science and space lovers!
