ARC Review:

Well that was quite a ride! This has gotta be the most unhinged group of hockey players ever lol

If you're not a fan of bully romance, then this series probably isn't for you. This one contains lots of non-con and somnophilia, so if that is not your thing..I would maybe skip it. I wouldn't necessarily describe this as a dark romance--but rather romantic suspense! It definitely has you questioning things and characters..and the hero is definitely crazy, but the themes it deals don't really make me question my morals-if you know what I mean!

This is the third book in a series of interconnected standalones following a group of unhinged and obsessed hockey players. We're following Willow and Miles. Willow previously dated Knox--another hockey player (and Mile's brother) but is now recovering from the humiliation Knox put her through.

Miles has always had a thing for Willow..since he first laid eyes on her, he was obsessed. Until his brother scooped her up and broke her heart. She is treated like an outcast by her former dance team members, and Miles is there--trying to help pick up the pieces. Of course, he doesn't go about it like a normal guy--that wouldn't make for an interest book lol. He mirrors his fellow teammates and bullies her into submission..but she fights him every step of the way.

A typical night out at a popular bar near campus turns into a night that would set the pace for the rest of the book. Willow, Miles, and their group of friends now have a secret..and they'll do what they need to in order to keep it that way.

The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was definitely too long. I feel like we could've cut out the whole Willow being a singer storyline (which I didn't find added any real substance to the story), and it would have been a much more reasonable length, and still included all the need-to-know details relevant to the plot.

Something that I've found S. Massery's hockey romances include (that a lot of others lack) is actual HOCKEY!! We get a ton of hockey in these books, which I absolutely love because I literally know nothing about the actual sport, so it's nice to delve deeper into it rather than just gloss over it just enough to call it a sports romance. I would definitely recommend if you like hockey romance, romantic suspense, and crazy obsessed, unhinged, touch her and you d!e type of heroes.

May be my favorite book so far in the series?!

♾️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I can’t adequately describe how much I liked Miles Whiteshaw. I didn’t expect this story to make me emotional multiple times, but here we are. Yet another crazy hockey player, but this time the hockey player just fits with his love interest as precisely as a missing puzzle piece. Where Willow needed to escape into submission, Miles equally craved control. The underlying suspense/mystery part of the story definitely binds them even more together, as was Miles’ intention.

“I own you, wild one.” - Miles

“What did I tell you about touching my girl?” Miles asks, leaning over him.

“I’ve got you now, and I’m never letting go. All right?” - Miles

“But let’s be serious. Even Hades wouldn’t dare separate us.” - Miles

Miles! A tad unhinged, but I'm totally here for it.

Loving Willow from afar for years was difficult enough, but when she was humiliated by Knox (his brother) Miles wanted nothing else but to make her his. He was just a teensy bit obsessive and possessive in the way he went about it.

I loved these two together! While Miles was yes, a little nuts at times, he had Willow's best interests at heart.

There was some mystery and a little danger throughout, which added to the intensity of the story. And of course, gave Miles more of a reason to be protective.

I loved every minute of this book! This series is dark and twisted and I am hooked! The glimpse into Jacob's story has intrigued me. Excited to read his next.
