Secret Obsession

Such flawed logic… if I sleep with her enough so she will fall in love with me! The only redemption was the clarification he was in love with her from the beginning and she felt the same but once again the miscommunication trope ruining peoples lives!

You know it's going to be good and dark when he kills for her in the first 10% of the book. While reading Greyson and Steele's stories, I was hoping that Knox was going to have a redemption arc and end up falling for Willow, but I am so happy that it didn't end up this way.

The devotion and obsession Miles has towards Willow is on another level. I also love that the dedication and comradery between the hockey boys extends to more than just the ice. These guys are ride or die, literally helped their boy get rid of a body.

He might have gone about it the wrong way, but Miles truly loves Willow, and he was able to save her from her self-destructive drinking.

One last random thing, there was one quote from Willow that really hit close to home for me:
"I've got ugly scars all over my insides from a weird, draining childhood. Nothing particularly bad happened, but it left me traumatized all the same. How fucked up is that?"
I had to stop and think after I read that because that was my childhood. My parents were loving and provided for me, and nothing extremely traumatic necessarily happened to me, but it was just an amalgamation of all the little things that messed me up.

I thought Greyson was my favorite, but my sweet, messed up, would stab a guy in the neck for you, Miles might have just overthrown him.

Gosh Miles Whiteshaw was a lot to handle, but I loved his character so much. He's a tad psychotic but I loved every minute of it. Willow was great and I am so glad she got what she deserved finally after the disaster that was Knox. I loved how she grew and stopped her drinking which wasn't solving anything. The twists of the story had me on the edge of my seat. The spice was fantastic and I cannot wait to read the fourth book about Jacob. I loved this entire series and cannot recommend it enough if you like dark bully romance. However definitely read trigger warnings!

Ugh I was the most excited for this one and it fell really flat. I know the tone of the series, but in Miles and Willow’s case, I just don’t understand the bullying. Like, he ruins her reputation and takes away dance, one of the biggest elements of her life, and is all shocked pikachu face when she spirals? Cmon dude, you literally did this to her?

Also, Violet kinda was a crappy friend in this book and it made me sad. She apologies for it, but still. Sad

There are also so many plot holes: why was Ronan so desperate to talk to Willow during that one scene at lunch? He didn’t do anything wrong, so why buy her phone number and anxiously try to talk to her? Also, Miles kept talking about how it was bad that Aspen didn’t know about the tracker, yet he never told Willow.

Lastly and most vehemently, I do not and never will forgive Knox. He spent a year manipulating Willow AND simultaneously making his brother miserable for fun. He still treated them both like shit even after he and Willow broke up. And THEN he manipulated her into trading her life for Miles’s. But you see, those weren’t the straw that broke the camel’s back. The straw was the small detail that Willow heard how fast the man FLED the scene when she gave herself to the psycho. Like he led her to her probable death and didn’t even try and figure out a way to help. I actually refuse to read his book because he did not deserve any of the forgiveness he received.

Only gets 2 stars rather than 1 because I loved seeing how in love Miles was the whole time. He genuinely cared, which was new.

This book was absolutely amazing. From start to finish, I was in love. Miles is my new favorite, which is saying a lot because Greyson has been holding that spot for the last three books.

When I say this series has me in a chokehold….. 10/10 recommend!!

This book was tough to read.  The first two books of this series were incredible so I was shocked that this one did not hit the mark for me.  I really struggled with liking Willow.  Her anger went on way too long in my opinion. Hoping Jacob’s book bounces me back.
