DID NOT FINISH

Dnf

Way darker than I expected. Thought it was more gray. Since I didn't read the earlier books, I didn't know what I got into. MMC too stalker/psychopath for me.

3. Did I like willow and miles. Yes. Did I like them together. Yes. Do I know why willow like Miles. No. Do I know why Miles like Willow. No.

Maybe I missed something by skipping the second book. But there was a lot telling me about Miles obsession and less showing. Obviously by the end of the book he definitely did. By staying by her side and always being there. But I needed more.

Though I like Willow (don’t ask me why) why did Miles like her. She didn’t do anything. Apart from smile and look pretty. I don’t understand the obsession with her.

I think that what the issue is. That this book could of happen the same why but without the darkness. It didn’t ever really make sense. To me Miles would of been better as obsessive and submissive. Like still put a tracker in her but bow down to her.

However, the sub plot was definitely written better in this book compare to the first

SpoilerWhat a way to get out of a slump. This book was so unbelievably unhinged that you have to keep ready to figure out what’s going to happen next; though, I will admit it slows down a bit at the 50% mark.

Miles is definitely a Whiney baby for the majority of the story which can be difficult to get through (especially when she leaves after he tells her he loves her.) I’m surprised he got signed at the end with how little attention he was giving his hockey career throughout this story.

Willow was her own kind of annoying but I understood her reasoning a lot more. She felt a lot more human than Miles did throughout the book. I will say she was not mad enough about him ruining her social life for her last year of college for me. Like what was even the point of doing all that? None of that was warranted and it never came back up either. Just hurting her for the sake of it. I understand that he wanted her isolated but that just didn’t really make any sense to me.

All things considered, it was engaging and entertaining with just enough happening to keep you curious. This was the first one I’ve read of the series and I’m excited to read the rest.

Secret Obsession is the third book in the Hockey Gods series. This book is about Miles and Willow. Willow was going out with Miles's brother. But after a public break up Willow doesn't know who she can trust.

Miles declares Willow as his and whatever he wants for her. He's mad she chose his brother and wants payback. However, payback starts to turn into feelings.

What happens when Miles wants more from Willow? Will Willow get back at Miles for how his brother treated her? Will they get through all their past hurtles?

I really enjoyed Miles and Willow, and am excited to see what happens next in this series.

I’m convinced this author is trying to outdo herself for most unhinged MMC and honestly I love it lol

3 chapters in and you are left without a single double that Miles is crazy. He’s so possessive and obsessive but at the same time sweet??? Also there’s one part he’s running around while carrying Willow and he’s so happy and it was oddly wholesome despite everything else LOL

Willow just needed a damn hug. She definitely wasn’t as spunky as the first book but trust me if you end up going through what she goes through you wouldn’t be either but she still has her sass and a bit of fight which I appreciated

This book is long but it’s definitely fast paced and very spicy. There’s definitely some angst which I like. ALSO even tho the idea is that willow was with his brother first it’s not written as a love triangle or as other man drama, like it has way more to do with Willow being hurt and not wanting to feel that again than anything else so thank god for that lol

This is definitely my favourite of the series but I’m very intrigued about Jacobs book coming up next

Excuse me while I die a little bit!!! I read this book in one sitting (thank god for days off) and I’m so happy I did. Honestly, my favourite so far of the series. I saw somewhere that someone described Miles as our morally grey golden retriever and I couldn’t agree more. Despite being a bit dark and twisty, and doing some other morally grey thing (cough tracker cough) I couldn’t help but fall in love with Miles, and when she called him her boyfriend and he ran around the parking lot screaming??? Swooooon. I love Willow in this book, as I feel like I can definitely relate to her in many ways on a personal level, that it definitely just sucked me in while I was reading. I enjoyed the duel POV with a sprinkling of different pov within (CANT wait for Jacob).
