I did not like this book. No plot. No movement. No excitement. Not changed by this book. I tried reading other reviews to get inspired or figure out what was so life altering about it — but... no luck. Can ignite good conversation about gender and socioeconomic status (thank you book club!) but not my cup of tea!

This book does such a good job putting growing pains into words. Can def tell why it’s a classic
this made me unexpectedly emotional, even cried during bits of it. there's a special fondness I have for it too, being martha's favorite book.
This is my all time favorite book which I just read for about the 10th time! Reading it now as an adult who lives in NY gives me a better appreciation for the book. This is a must read.
