Teilweise sehr niedliche Geschichten mit viel Tiefe, sehr märchenhaft. Oft fabelähnlich, da viele Tiere vorkommen. 
Der erste Teil hat mir besser gefallen als der zweite, er war optimistischer,

When I was young, I would watch The Happy Prince cartoon and also The Selfish Giant. I think they must have played on TV during Christmas?? I love those beautiful stories, still. This digital edition from my library included The Happy Prince and Other Stories AND A House of Pomegranates. I also loved the "new to me" tales: The Nightingale and the Rose AND The Devoted Friend. Some may call these stories dated and cheesy but they fill my inner child's heart with joy

I expected this to be a children book. However, I'm wrong. Upon finishing it, I concluded that this book contains stories too dark to be consumed by children.

The original work actually consists of five stories. This Gramedia version adds two other stories to them: 'The Sphinx Without A Secret' and 'The Birthday of The Infanta'.
